Week 5-8: Month Two

Week 5-8: Month Two

The first week of month two, I go back for another transvaginal ultrasound. And what do we see?
TWINS! Identical twins. We only implanted one egg after five days of growth. Chances of the egg splitting into two, 1.5%.
Two little humans are growing inside me. I was shocked. I never once thought about having twins. At one point I didn’t think I had the ability of having children at all. Now I will be having two!
How will my body react? What will my stomach look like? Will it ever look the same? Does giving birth hurt more with two? What are the complications? So many questions, with not many answers.
What I was told: high risk, probably induced early, even more frequent doctor visits.

Week seven, another transvaginal ultrasound. Both babies are growing and healthy. I hear their heartbeats. I took a video and sent it to close friends and family. Now I allow myself and my husband to be more and more excited everyday.

Update:
1. Running: dropped again to 110 miles for month two, making it out four days a week
2. Weight: same 123 lbs, bloated, breasts up a cup size
3. Nutrition: water (cannot seem to stay hydrated), same supplements, fruit (hated it before)
4. Symptoms: exhausted, insomnia, night terrors, vivid dreams like on LSD, nauseous at night after a late dinner, constipation
5. Books: Expecting Better by Dr Emily Oster, Real Food for Pregnancy by Lily Nichols
*Decided to only read books written by professionals in their field - I will receive all types of personal opinions, I do not need to read about them too.
