Maternity Clothing

Maternity Clothing

Seems to be a hot topic -- some women live for maternity clothing, some love the maternity jeans, others have a favorite brand and refuse to believe anything else will be as comfortable. All of the a is great, for some women..

My belly is growing, and growing. At this point I gained almost 20 lbs, all in my mid section. Maternity pants are extremely comfortable, yes; soft, stretchy, very forgiving. However, nothing fits! The xs is too large around my legs, and I am still not a fan of pants meeting my bra. The jeans are even worse, sitting awkwardly high on my hips, with a fabric band that goes over to my ribs, while being baggy around my legs. Maybe I am just not finding the right ones?
For now, I am able to wear my pre pregnancy leggings under the belly, and my jeans with a hair tie to fasten the top button.

The brand I do immensely enjoy wearing is ASOS. They have some fantastic maternity clothing. All the items I ordered, including a dress for a wedding my husband and I are attending next week, fit correctly and look fantastic. ASOS has true to size measurements -- size 4 actually fits me like a size 4, with some extra fabric for the belly. Highly recommend!

I guess some women have an increase in shoe size when pregnant..? My feet haven’t changed sizes, my rings are not any tighter, my watch is on the same band length; really the only part of my body increasing in size is my belly, and breasts. I think my chest and hips are expanding and widening, or maybe that is part of the belly growth.

In other news, a fun perk of being pregnant in New York during Covid.. No lines! I don’t have to wait in the Trader Joe’s line, or any store line. My friend and I went to a musume this week, skipped the line. As a lovely cashier said, “You are not going to be pregnant forever, get to the front!”
